Cherry Girl is the largest version in my Girlies Series. She is made up of 3 parts: a wheel-thrown body and pedestal, with an hand-built pillow in-between. Cherry Girl is perched atop her cherry base relaxing and showing off her summer bikini. The glazing for this piece was definitely more time-consuming than a lot of my creations. The underglaze was applied in several layers over bisqueware, then glaze-fired, detailed with underglaze pencils, covered in clear gloss, and then glaze-fired a second time. She is similar in some ways to her predecessors Fiona and Princess is the Pea, but with the wheel-thrown forms and surface details seen in the smaller vessels of the Girlies Series.
