This is my first lamp!  I was really inspired by the work of Austin Coudriet at this year's NCECA conference, and couldn't wait to work on some ideas for my own functional sculpture. I had already been having fun working in these open-work, coil structures and thought they could make for a great sculptural lamp. The base is wheel-thrown and carved to create the texture. The piece was glazed with underglazes and a clear gloss glaze. A simple light kit was added after firing.  This was a great prototype, and I'm already excited to try some more versions.
