This series is inspired by a project I like to start the year doing with my high school students: pinch pot monsters. These quirky monsters start out as an ordinary pinch pot but then come to life with details and textures. This is the first time making my pinch pot monsters into wall hangings, which was a fun challenge. I thought they could make for great planters or holders of small items, so I decided to make them “grow” artificial succulents to act as their hair. I enjoyed playing with colors and textures to give each panel its own personality. These were made for the "Small Treasures" annual art show and sale at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center.
