These are a departure from my typical style in ceramics but have the bold, graphic quality I enjoy when painting. The wall vases are made from slabs of clay and glazed with gloss glazes. The flowers are clay slabs finished with gloss glazes and a wash of India ink after firing. The stems are pieces of black aluminum wire. The background of the panels is acrylic paint with a semi-gloss varnish. These were made for the "Small Treasures" annual art show and sale at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center.
