This is not my usual type of object to create, but I just love how it turned out. While trying to share various techniques to my students in Ceramics 2, I wanted to show them water etching. I had a couple of extra wheel-thrown bowls that I combined to create a pedestal bowl, then then painted the design on in wax resist when the form was nearly bone-dry.  After firing, it was finished with underglazes and clear matte on the exterior and a bright, high-gloss white on the interior.
